In this contribution, Annika Galle and Hélène Vletter-van Dort discuss current and upcoming cybersecurity regulations, such as DORA, NIS 2 and the Dutch Corporate Governance Code. In doing so, they emphasize the desired role that a supervisory director can, and perhaps even should, play on this subject by, among other things, actively engaging with the organization, showing exemplary behavior, actively contributing to raising awareness of the importance of cybersecurity and reporting transparently about this. Cybersecurity must not only be clearly defined, but also well embedded in the governance structure of companies.
